On Sunday Kyla was sitting with us on the couch outside of the Bishop’s office. An older sister in our ward was sitting in there in her wheel chair. Kyla asked who she was and I said I didn’t know. Then I said you want to go say hi to her? “YES!” was her reply. She ran over said hi and gave the lady a hug. Then she ran back and asked me what her name was and I said go ask her. So she went over there and asked what her name was. She told Kyla that her name was Romilda, but all her friends called her Milli. Kyla introduced herself and then chatted with her for a little bit before coming back to us. Right before Milli left she said bye to Kyla and got a big hug and a chocolaty kiss in return (Kyla had just had a chocolate cupcake). She didn’t seem to mind the fact that her cheek had a big ole chocolate smear though. I found out later that Milli lives by herself and probably gets pretty lonely. I think Kyla brightened up Milli’s day and made a new friend in the process.
My oldest child is now 3. How killer is that? I still remember the day she was born so clearly, yet it has been 3 years.
Kyla Alexis was born November 13, 2005.
My sweet baby girl was sleeping through the night by 3 months old. We were so lucky!
Dustin was mesmerized by her from day one. They have such a close bond. Kyla is definitely a Daddy’s girl.
Anyone else thinks she looks like a redhead in this picture? Well, she was kinda in her transition from dark brunette to blonde, though the lighting made it even redder.
As soon as things warmed up Kyla loved swimming in the pool. It’s still one of her favorite summer time activities.
Will you check out those stunning baby blues on that girl?
Kyla was an international traveler before the age of 1. We went to Japan for family history research trip. She was loved by all the people we met there. I remember we were shopping and a group of teenage girls stopped us and asked if they could take a picture with her. Can you believe that?? Talk about japanese celebrity.
Who wouldn’t go ga-ga over this kid?!
Kyla and Daddy at Disneyland.
Kyla’s first pair of glasses.
Of course a current picture of my cutie after our hair fiasco!
I totally love this kid. She is smart, spunky and very loving. She is my little shadow whenever I am in the kitchen. She loves cooking, pretend or real. She is one of the smartest kids I know! We are so lucky to have this wonderful little girl in our lives. Happy Birthday Kyla!!
Well, I have been trying to figure out a new blog header, when I came up with the perfect idea. Make Kyla and Arwen pilgrim and indian costumes and use their picture for my blog! There were some pretty cute pictures, but I think the one used for the header was the best choice. Here are some of the other pictures that were super cute, but didn’t make the cut!
This would have been THE picture, except the background was awful and Arwen was blurred due to the fact that she moves so fast!
They are so funny. Anytime either one of them starts laughing the other one does too. It’s just too cute!
This is just a sweet picture. What you don’t get to see is two second later Arwen is shoving Kyla off of her. Awww…sisters….
Arwen makes a cute little indian!
I did a trial run photoshoot of Kyla while Arwen was napping. She is SO hilarious! She made some of the craziest faces ever. It made for some really good shots. Though I have to say this one is my favorite!
Kyla being newly potty trained she tends to strip down completely when she goes to the bathroom. Arwen likes to follow her into the bathroom because she just loves her big sis that much. Today I heard Kyla yelling at Arwen to give it back and came upon Arwen looking like this:
While it may look like a cute pink hat, it’s actually Kyla underwear.
Kyla was not happy about Arwen deciding to put it on her head. I must say I’m not thrilled about her putting Kyla’s undies on her head either. Bathtime is going to be early tonight. As a sidenote Kyla got her underwear back and Arwen is now hatless. ![]()
Yesterday we rolled out a long piece of butcher paper and drew an outline of Kyla. She thought it was awesome! She got to draw herself. She drew everything except the her hair, nose and ears, which she oversaw her Daddy color that part. He was so cute sitting there taking her directions! I think she did a GREAT job!
Here is her picture:
The lighting wasn’t all that great. It just kept washing out the colors, but you can tell she worked really hard on it.
The artists!
Everyday during Arwen’s nap time I try to do something fun with Kyla. Arwen takes up a lot of time and attention, so Kyla and I have special time together during naptime. We do a craft, cook, or just dance around the house. Doesn’t really matter what we do so long as we are having fun together! Today I helped Kyla make a hand turkey. She decided that her turkey was going to be blue. I think it’s the cutest turkey I’ve ever seen. It’s now displayed up in our front window for all the neighbors to see.
Then we made a wreath. Kyla isn’t quite old enough to cut things so I cut out the leaves and then asked what she was thankful for. It ranged from Grandmas to my inlaws cat Puff. The funny thing was when I asked her if she was thankful for their other cat Crikey and she said no. LOL.
We glued it together and then hung it up on the door. I think it should be a tradition each year to make a wreath for what the Larsen’s are thankful for!
